Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are well into thier second weeks now around the world, and as the remade game in generation 7, it has not dissapointed fans.
ORAS brings Pokemon players back to Hoenn, and like the rest of the games, sets you off with a starter Pokemon and the aim of becoming Pokemon Master and League Champion. With returning abilities such as Mega Evolution to help you along the way, new powers have been discovered such as Primal Reversion. Also a new feature in this game is the ability to 'Soar' above the map on either Latias or Latios, another version exclusive pokemon who helps you on your journey. Using this method to travel (to places you've already been like the HM Fly) is amazing, and really gives players the feeling that they are in Hoenn. There are also special events that happen whilst using this method of travelling, but I'll let you guys find that out.
For new players, there is a fair amount to learn and remember.. Each Pokemon has a type, certain strengths and weaknesses, and the game does do it's best to provide all players with the information they need.
As a remake from 4 generations ago, GameFreak have done pretty well. With 3D battles, a remastered score, and bringing in a whole new load of abilities introduced throughout the years, this game has longevity. Especially as the post-game has the ability for you to find and capture most of the legendaries from previous games for your collection.
When it comes to differences between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there isn't too much really. The main difference mainly comes down to what Legendary Pokemon you encounter in the story and post game. For older players who have the Pokemon Bank app on thier DS systems, you can send all your pokemon from X and Y to ORAS. However be warned that items will not transfer, and if you try and send pokemon back to X and Y and they've learnt new moves introduced in ORAS they will not transfer. All the Megastones are available in ORAS so get hunting!!
I've been playing Omega Ruby and thoroughly enjoy it as a Pokemon fan. I missed the original versions when they came out so it's been nice to see the story I missed. It is a lot of fun and I think GameFreak have done very well remastering this.
